UNOPS FFAs gather for a meeting in Yangon

A meeting of Field Finance Assistants (FFAs) to update on progress of the Global Fund grants implementation was held at UNOPS office (from 12-14 October 2017) participated by the responsible officers from the national programmes, Ministry of Health and Sports and UNOPS.

A meeting of Field Finance Assistants (FFAs) to update on progress of the Global Fund grants implementation was held at UNOPS office (from 12-14 October 2017) participated by the responsible officers from the national programmes, Ministry of Health and Sports and UNOPS.

Dr Myat Myat Moe, TB Specialist and Dr Zaw Myint, TB Officer, Yangon Region, DOPH, MOHS attended the meeting together with Dan Oduor Magambo, UNOPS Financial Management Officer. Dr Zaw Myint made a welcome remark followed by a brief introduction by Dan Magambo.  

The three-day long meeting provided a platform for all FFAs to update on funding under New Funding Model and the Regional Artemisinin-resistance Initiative, the 3MDG Fund supported TB active case finding and MDR-TB related activities.

It also provided an opportunity for FFAs to learn about the latest developments and adjustments in procurement and supply chain management, managed cash flow processes and guidelines and assets certification.

Managed Cash Flow (MCF) is a tool to help build financial management capacity of the health system and provide service to the National Programmes to facilitate their management of the implementation of their own programmes.

To implement MCF, 48 UNOPS FFAs are based in their duty stations at State/Regional health departments across Myanmar.
