These review meetings provide a platform for discussion to update on the progress of the Global Fund grants implementation and funding under New Funding Model (NFM), as well as on Active Case Finding (ACF) under 3MDG, Maternal and Child Cash Transfer (MCCT programme in Chin State) under LIFT, National Health Plan Implementation Monitoring Unit (NIMU) under 3MDG, and National Nutrition Centre (NNC) under 3MDG. They are also used to share guidance on the latest developments or adjustments in procurement and supply chain management, managed cash flow processes and guidelines. Participating in the meeting were the responsible officers from the national programmes, MOHS and the UNOPS team, including 66 FFAs.
“These are very important meetings and we appreciate the support of FFAs towards smooth programme implementation,” said Dr Zaw Myint, Regional Officer and Senior Consultant TB Specialist, National TB Programme, MOHS, at the opening of the four-day FFAs half-yearly review held in Yangon (28 November–1 December).
“I am very proud of you and the services being contributed towards building the capacity of the national health system in Myanmar. MCFU is the flagship programme of UNOPS-PR. We appreciate the strong collaboration of and harmonious partnership with the national programmes/MOHS,” said Dr Faisal Mansoor, Head of Programme Unit, UNOPS. Dan Magambo, UNOPS Financial Management Officer, thanked the national programmes/MOHS for their close collaboration and the FFAs for their great contribution towards efficient implementation of the Global Fund grants.
On the way forward, Mr Magambo encouraged FFAs to keep up their excellent performance, for more efficient disbursement to help programmes reach people in need and support Myanmar’s health system to deliver quality healthcare services for all.
