Managed Cash Flow-review workshop 15.02.2013

The output of the two day workshop was the addendum to the Managed Cash Flow-SOP - the culmination of agreed points reached by the participants of the review workshop to complement the Managed Cash Flow-SOP on the principles of prudent programme- and financial management. 

To review the existing Managed Cash Flow - SOP rolled out since December 2011; PR conducted a two-day workshop in Nay Pyi Taw during January 2013.The aim of the workshop is to provide a platform for discussion to review, identify and incorporate all lessons learnt from nearly two years of implementation, the SOPs related to the management of the Global Fund Round 9 budgets for planning, budgeting and financial management for officers implementing activities.

The opening speech was addressed by H.E Prof. Dr Pe Thet Khin, The Union Minister for Health and the opening session was attended by the Director General, Deputy Director Generals, and Directors from the Ministry of Health together with participants from respective State and Regional Health Directors and responsible officers from the AIDS, TB and Malaria National Programmes.

In his opening speech, H.E. Prof. Dr. Pe Thet Khin stressed the importance of having one comprehensive management system that is effective and efficient, having well defined management hierarchy interwoven with culture of accountability.

After the two-day workshop with interactive discussion and brainstorming reviewing challenges and bottlenecks in implementation of the existing Managed Cash Flow-SOP, the participants could successfully come forward with collective solutions and recommendations to update/modify the existing scheme under the guidance and leadership of the Ministry of Health.
