A two-day quarterly review meeting to discuss implementation status under the Global Fund grants was held in Nay Pyi Taw (14–15 September 2015). The meeting was organized by the PR in collaboration with the national programmes, and participants were Sub-recipients (SRs) of the Global Fund grants under the New Funding Model (NFM), and the Regional Artemisinin-resistance Initiative (RAI) Myanmar and Inter-Country Component (ICC) grants. 

The meeting provided a platform for interactive discussions to share and review with all partners the status of implementation of the Global Fund grants (January to June 2015) including identifying problems, gathering lessons learnt and discussion to come forward collectively with solutions for improvements for the way forward.

“The meeting provided an opportunity for development of a common understanding and the way forward under the leadership of the national health programmes and the Department of Public Health. Our partnership is growing and will continue to grow in the times to come,” said Dr Faisal Mansoor, Head of Programme Unit, UNOPS Myanmar.

After fruitful discussions among the partners, the meeting was successfully concluded with a list of recommendations for improvements for the way forward.
