Warehouse monitoring
PR-UNOPS PSM team conducted 38 monitoring visits to warehouses and storage facilities of the National Programmes and other SRs, at central, state and regional levels in 2016. It helped to ensure that the storage procedures and practices were according to the standard guidelines, to identify risks of overstock, understock and expiration in the storage facilities and to enhance the capacity of staff involved in supply chain management including warehouse management and distribution activities.
Logistics Management Information System trainings
Three Logistic Management Information System (LMIS) trainings were conducted for participants from the National Programmes and other SRs at central level. PR-UNOPS team also helped to facilitate 10 State/Regional LMIS trainings for the National Programmes in 2016. In total, 814 participants were trained – from regional officers to basic health staff (BHS) involved in logistics management – to enhance their logistics management capacity and to strengthen the overall health supply chain system in Myanmar.
A Logistics Management Strategic Advisory Group (LMSAG) meeting (held in Yangon on 10 October 2016) provided a platform for SRs, technical partners from the World Health Organization and Clinton Health Access Initiative, and PR-UNOPS PSM team to discuss various issues around health products supply chain management.
Renovation of warehouses
Renovation of the National AIDS Programme central warehouse was completed in November 2016. This included installation of new racking systems, redesign of the storage space and floor plan, and partitioning between the storage area and receiving bay with installation of new aluminium doors.
