Ann Township is one of the most malaria-endemic areas and many of its inhabitants are of low socio-economic status with little access to quality health services. However, the Myanmar Medical Association (MMA) fixed and mobile malaria clinics provide quality health care services to people in these remote areas.
At this fixed clinic, a mother and her four children test positive for Plasmodium falciparum malaria, which can be fatal if left untreated.
The family is grateful to the staff from MMA, as they made a full recovery thanks to timely Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT).
